Poem: Seeing Clearly

Wisdom from Mountain Lamp

Diminishing sight causes me to kneel
to get intimate with bleeding hearts,
buttercups, coral bells,
delicately shaped, resounding colors.
If suchness neither comes nor goes
Spring blossoms in my heart through all the seasons.

The great oak gives its strength without action.
The bird song wafts into the clear mind.

Spring blossoms in my heart through all the seasons.

The great oak gives its strength without action.
The bird song wafts into the clear mind.
It is not in the doing that you give without need for return.
It is the heart pulsing, the out breath of compassion
that spreads the Buddha essence into the world.
