Poem: Blossom

I am a bulb.
For many years I have been locked
inside a cold garage.
I have been very sad.
I have been very lonely.
I almost turned into dust.
It’s a wonder I survived!
But I am here now still,
and this season I will be planted;
happy to be in the warm, moist soil.
With tender loving care
I will blossom, smile,
