Poem: Listening to the Flowers

By John Baca

As you walk slowly and softly by the flowers all in a row,
listen quietly and hear them say, “Hey Joe!
Stop, look at me, this is what I want you to do.
Remember your retreat, breathe and smile, don’t cry.
I want to reflect my beauty in you.”
